Tri-Tip Bison Roast

Tri-tips meat comes from the tip of the sirloin and is tender and flavorful which makes it one of our favorites! For this roast, we decided to go simple and delicious by mixing spices and rubbing them into the roast to add a ton of flavor.

In addition to the tri-tip, we also made gluten-free, vegan lahmacun (Turkish pizza) which was actually really good! You can find that recipe here.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon pepper

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 tablespoon cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage

  • 1/2 teaspoon basil

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2-5lbs of JJ Bison tri-tip

Instructions:

  1. Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. Coat the tri-tip in all the above spices and massage it into the meat.

  3. Put the roast in a bag and let it sit for 2 hours minimum in the refrigerator.

  4. Take out the tri-tip and let it reach close to room temperature.

  5. In an oven-safe pan, pour your 1 tablespoon olive oil and bring the pan to high heat.

  6. Sear the tri-tip on all sides and then move the pan to the oven.

  7. Wait until the roast is 5-10 degrees under the desired temperature and remove it from the oven.

  8. Take the meat and tent it in foil to let it rest for 5 minutes or until the meat reaches the desired temperature.

  9. Enjoy!
